Hopi overlay bracelet made by Mitchell Sockyma with turquoise, 1970's
Hopi overlay bracelet with two turquoise cabochons, made by artist Mitchell Sockyma (1942- ) in the 1970's. This bracelet measures 5 1/2", with a 1 2/8" opening, so it fits wrists up to 6 3/4". It is 1" wide at the widest part. It has silver overlay designs around the sides, including Kokopelli, whirlwinds, and step kivas. The two turquoise stones make this an unusual piece, since stones typically come in odd-numbered groups on bracelets. It is hallmarked with MS and a turtle on the back.
