Zuni fetish toad or frog catching a dragonfly, made of Mexican alabaster, with inlay turquoise eyes, and raised dot inlay turquoise on its body. Native American Made. This is an action fetish, as the frog has caught a dragonfly made of turquoise and mother of pearl on the tip of its tongue. Made by artist Enrike Leekya and signed on the bottom. Enrike Leekya is a descendant of the famous Zuni carver Leekya Deyuse.
Toads and frogs are associated with rain, abundance, water, and fertility, and they bring the rain, which is essential to all life on earth.
