Turtle fetish by Georgia Quam, dolomite
Zuni fetish carving of a turtle, made of pink dolomite, with inlay turquoise eyes and raised inlay turquoise on the shell. Native American Made. It is 1 3/4" long, 3/8" tall, and 1 1/4" wide. This fetish was handmade by Zuni artist Georgia Quam and is signed on the bottom. There is a slight variation from the photo, the center stone on the turtle's shell is red coral, not turquoise as shown, otherwise it is all the same.
Turtles represent longevity, fertility, home, and reliability. They are symbols of Mother Earth, and they are rain bringers.
