Mouse with a piece of turquoise in paws. Zuni fetish by Enrike Leekya, made of Picasso marble and carved wood, with inlay turquoise eyes, and nose. The tail is made of wood. It is 2 1/8" tall, and 3 3/4" long and about 1 1/4" wide at the widest part. Very cute fetish, and a very unusual animal to see in a Zuni fetish.
Mouse are not used in Zuni religious ceremonies, but they are one of the animals that Zuni fetish carvers make, to showcase their creativity, ingenuity, and skill.
