Mexican Yalalag cross necklace with dangling crosses and beads, with handmade chain
Vintage Mexican Yalalag sterling silver necklace with cross pendant, circa 1940s. The pendant hangs 3 3/8" long all together, with silver beads, a 1 1/4" long cross in the middle, and three 1" long crosses hanging from the larger one. It is on a 24" long handmade chain with a hook clasp.
The Yalalag cross design originated in the town of San Juan Yalalag in the mountains east of Oaxaca. This unique design originated in the sixteenth century.
