San Ildefonso blackware vase, by "Blue Corn", Crucita Gonzales Calabaza (1921-1999). Blue Corn, known for her polychrome and distinctive black-on-black and redware pottery, was famous for her unique designs and perfect execution. Her favorite designs included feathers, rain clouds, turtles and the Avanyu. This piece is a black-on-black vase with feathers in a row design.
All four sides are photographed. They are all perfect.
All of our Pueblo pottery is made with the coil and pinch method, made with clay the artists gathered, hand-polished, and traditionally fired. It will be double boxed with fully insured shipping.
