Native American Zuni fetish carving of a bear, made of of zebra marble with inlay turquoise eyes. It has a inlay design of a sun face with turquoise dots on back side. On the front side, cut shell and inlay mixed stones to make up a design of a mesa with the moon and stars. This fetish was handmade by Zuni artists Lynn and Jayne Quam, and it is signed on the bottom "Lynn and Jayne Quam".
The bear is one of the most popular fetishes, it symbolizes strength, power, courage, adaptability, and health. Protector from the west.
Measurements: 5 3/4" wide, 4" tall, and 1 3/8" deep.
