Yaqui Indian wooden mask depicting an Native American Indian with headdress, ca 1990s. Hand-painted in acrylic and hand-carved from cottonwood, with horsehair and mirror accents. Indian has painted feathers with inlay mirrors on the side of its face. Has the traditional Yaqui triangle painted border around edges of mask. Handmade by Yaqui artist Esteban Gonzalez.
The Yaqui tribe is an Native American group that live in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona.
Measurements: 9 1/4" wide, 5" deep, mask is about 4" tall, total length with hair it is about 20".
