Yaqui wooden mask, ca 1990s, depicting a goat. Has the traditional goat with the tonque sticking out of the goats mouth and the Yaqui triangle painted border around edges of the mas, hand-painted in acrylic and hand-carved from cottonwood, with horsehair.
Signed on the back. Handmade by Yaqui artist Esteban Gonzalez.
The Yaqui tribe is an Native American group that live in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona.
Measurements: 3 3/4" tall, 4 3/4" deep, mask is about 8 1/2" wide, total length with hair it is about 24".
