Corn maidens fetish by Zuni artist Chad Quandelacy. Two-sided fetish with two corn maidens on each side, made of carved jet with abalone and turquoise faces. Has inlay coral, turquoise, lapis and spiny oyster shell flowers with incised dragonflies. One side has a larger flower of inlay spiny oyster shell with a turquoise dot center. Stands on a round base of abalone shell.
The Corn Maiden helps to bring a healthy corn crop (abundance), which is an important source of food to the Zuni.
Measurements: 1 5/8" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" deep.
