Desert scene in relief (Diorama) is made entirely by hand. The background is an old Arizona postcard. The representation of the different types of cacti is Real Vegetation gathered from the desert. This is dried and finished in oil colors.
Different types of Cacti represented are: Ocatillo (red tips), Sage Brush, and Yucca (white blossoms).
The frame is made of seasoned wood from the Giant (Sahuaro) Cactus.
It was made by Desert Diorama Co., Tucson, AZ ca. 1940's/50's
Measurements: diorama is 5 1/8" wide, 3 1/8" tall, approximately 1 3/8" deep; frame is 6 1/2" wide by 5" tall.
