Yaqui wooden Aztec man face/Eagle dance mask, ca 1990s, hand-painted in acrylic and hand-carved from cottonwood, with horsehair and mirror accents. Mask has painted white eagle feather headdress with inlaid mirror earrings and mirror eagle eyes.
Signed on the back. Handmade by Yaqui artist Julian Gonzalez.
The Yaqui Tribe is a Native American group that live in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona.
Measurements: 6 1/8" wide, about 8 3/8" deep, mask is about 6 1/2" tall, total length with hair is 21 1/2".
