Mayo tribe carved wooden goat dance mask, ca. 1990s, hand-painted with acrylic and hand-carved from cottonwood, with horsehair and cut out eyes. Has the traditional tongue that sticks out of the mouth. Has more of the three dimensional carving of the Mayo tribe.
Signed on the back. Handmade by Yaqui artist Cirildo Ramirez.
The Yaqui /Mayo Tribes are Native American group that live in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona.
Measurements: 5 3/4" wide, about 3 1/4" deep, mask is about 8 1/4" tall, with hair it is about 32" long.
