Yaqui Indian wooden mask depicting an Native American Indian with headdress, ca 1990s. Hand-painted in acrylic and hand-carved from cottonwood, with horsehair accents. Indian has feathers on the side of its face. Has the traditional Yaqui triangle painted border around edges of mask. Handmade by Yaqui artist Julian Gonzalez.
The Yaqui tribe is an Native American group that live in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona.
Measurements: 8 1/2" wide, 5" deep, mask is about 9 1/2" tall, total length with hair it is about 17".
