Inspired by the petroglyphs of Hidden Cove in Holbrook Arizona, Jesse Doe carved this sculpture from Willow root. His depiction is perfect and he calls him Cliff. This carving has the simplicity of a modern sculpture, but it's hundreds of years old. Signed on the bottom. Base is made out of Walnut.
Measurements: 12.5" tall, base is 4" at the widest part and 2.5" deep at the deepest part.
Jesse J. Doe was born in 1966 and grew up at the foot of a mountain quarry in Tucson, Arizona. Jesse learned his his wood carving from Hopi carver Lawrence Acadiz. He also learned the traditional mold making techniques from renowned wildlife sculptor Mark Rossi.
