Frog Zuni fetish made of abalone shell, hand carved by Zuni artist Andrew Quam. Native American made. Signed on the bottom. Made of carved abalone shell with inlay turquoise, very cleverly done, using the natural shape of the shell to mimic the shape of a frog.
Toads and frogs are very important to the Zuni. They are associated with rain, abundance, water, and fertility, and they bring the rain, which is essential to all life on earth.
Measurements: It is 1/4" tall and 1 1/4" wide by 1 3/8" deep.
