Apache Sunrise Ceremony Beaded Buckskin Jingle Dress
Apache Sunrise Ceremony beaded and decorated buckskin Jingle Dress. Hand stitched and beaded two piece buckskin jingle top and skirt.
Bead eagle design on front and back. All hand sewn one and fringe hand cut.
Barely worn. Excellent condition.
The Jingle Dress Dance is commonly seen in competitive pow wows, performed by women and girls in First Nations and Native American communities.
The dance gets its name from the rows of metal cones—called “ziibaaska’iganan”—attached to their dresses, which make a distinctive sound as they dance.
Size: Measurements are flat measurements: Shoulder to Shoulder approximately 17 1/2", nap of neck to end of fringe 35", shoulder seam to end of sleeve fringe 37", flat measurement of front panel is 28", It is open at the sides, so it could fit multiple sizes. (28 x 2 would be 56). Skirt is 32" with elastic/cloth at top and hook and eye closure at the side, 39" from top of skirt to end of fringe.
