Zuni fetish of a giraffe by Zuni artist Bryston Bowannie. Native American Made. Made of banded jasper with inlay turquoise eyes. Stone was carved at an angle that makes it appear to have a wood grain. This fetish is unsigned, but we buy directly from the artist so we always know who made each piece.
Giraffes like this are not native to New Mexico, so they were not a traditional fetish carving animal, but exotic animals like this are often carved to showcase the Zuni carvers' ingenuity and skill.
Measurements: 2 5/8" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 5/8" deep.
