Small pot by Stella Teller, Isleta, New Mexico
Small Polychrome pot decorated with a geometric design by Isleta potter Stella Teller (lifespan 1929-). Signed on the bottom.
Award-winning artist Stella Teller has enjoyed a long career of making pottery in her studio at Isleta Pueblo. She follows a family tradition of potters, as her great-grandmother Marcellina Jojola, her grandmother Emeklia Lente Carpio, and her mother Felicita Jojola were all pottery makers. Her pottery is distinguished from traditional Isleta Polychrome wares by its distinctive colors, which she says are all natural.
All of our Pueblo pottery is made with the coil and pinch method, made with clay the artists gathered, hand-polished, and traditionally fired. It will be double boxed with fully insured shipping.
Measurements: This pot measures 2 5/8" tall, 2 1/2" diameter, with an 1/1/8" opening.
