Sterling silver overlay earrings by Tohono O'Odham artist Rick Manuel, made around the 1980's. The silver overlay design on it depicts a woman going to harvest saguaro cactus fruit in the traditional O'Odham way, with the basket on her head, and holding the pole she would use to knock down the fruit. The earrings measure about 3/4" wide, and they hang down 1 3/4" long. Artist's hallmark is on the back. These are great earrings, with a theme that is very local to Tucson and the O'Odham tribe here.
