Navajo turquoise bolo tie by Allan McCabe, 1970s
Navajo-made bolo tie from the 1970s, sterling silver and turquoise, by artist Allan McCabe. The silver design is fairly large, 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide, and the turquoise stone in the middle is also sizeable, measuring 1 3/4" long by 5/8" wide.
The silver is heavy, substantial and very well-made, with overlay designs, and it is hallmarked on the back. The tips are 3 1/4" long, hand-stamped, heavy silver. They are handmade. Cord is 44" long, made of brown leather, wider at the back for comfort.
