Painting of horses by Mac Schweitzer
Original painting of horses by American artist Mary Alice "Mac" Schweitzer (life span 1921 - 1962). She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where she drew countless pictures of horses. She was fascinated by the West, and when the rodeo was in town, she would spend time at the arena, conversing with the participants and sketching. She was enchanted by the unusual plants and terrain of the desert southwest, and stated that she "never painted anything worthwhile" until she moved to Tucson with her husband in 1947. This painting shows her expertise in her favorite subject, horses.
Framed size measures 25" by 20", image size measures 19" by 14".
