Set of four prints by Jo Mora, "Horsemen of the West" series
Set of four prints by artist Jo Mora (life span 1876 - 1947), from his "Horsemen of the West" series. This was a series of watercolor illustrations that Mora painted for Scribner's Magazine. Later, eight of these prints were reproduced in the 1970s by Valley National Bank for its premiere customers. The four we have are framed beautifully, and they depict Padre Kino, a Pony Express rider, a Native warrior, and bronco busters.
Joseph Jacinto Mora was a Uruguayan-born American artist and cowboy, who lived with the Hopi and wrote extensively about his experiences in the West. He was an illustrator, sculptor, writer, and historian, who was called the Renaissance Man of the West.
Measurements: Framed size of each measures 16" by 13 1/2", image size measures 8 1/4" by 7 1/4".
The set of all four is $1,000, but can be bought individually for $250.
