Drawing of a Koshare Kachina figure by Neil David, famous Hopi artist. Made with colored pencil and ink on paper, it depicts David's typical humorous Koshare figure, holding an ice cream. Signed in the bottom right corner, and dated "2000" (see photo).
Neil David is a Hopi-Tewa artist, born 1944 in Polacca, First Mesa, Arizona. His work depicts Hopi ceremonial life, including dances, Kachina figures, and the Hopi villages and dwellings. The Koshare is an often used figure in his paintings.
Image size is 2 1/2" by 4", framed size is 9 1/4" by 11 1/4", frame is 2 1/2" deep.
