Zuni fetish of a black salamander, made of black marble, with inlay turquoise eyes and spots. It is a bit larger than most of our other Zuni fetishes. This fetish was handmade by Zuni artist Hudson Sandy and made in the 1990's, and it is signed on the bottom. The Salamander has great presence to it and character.
To the Zuni, lizards are quick, agile, survivors, and symbols of the desert.
