Santa Clara oval bowl, ca. 1930's. Carved blackware bowl, in excellent condition. This piece is by Helen Shupla (lifespan 1928-1985), an award-winning Santa Clara/Tohono O'Odham potter. She was active 1935-1985, and her favorite designs included Avanyu, rain, clouds, lightning, melon, and kiva steps. The pot is signed on the bottom.
This pot measures 6 1/2" wide, 4 1/2" deep, and 2 3/4" tall.
All of our Pueblo pottery is made with the coil and pinch method, made with clay the artists gathered, hand-polished, and traditionally fired. It will be double boxed with fully insured shipping.
