Eagle fetish with inlay sun face by Hiram Peynetsa
Eagle Zuni fetish, made of black marble, with inlay turquoise eyes. It also has a sun face design on one wing made of inlay turquoise, mother of pearl, jet, and coral, with incised stylized feather designs around the sun face. Hand carved by Zuni artist Hiram Peynetsa, and signed on the bottom. Very beautifully carved, with a lot of detail in the eagle's feathers, and the inlay designs add a traditional touch.
Measures 2 3/4" tall, 3"wide from beak to wing tip, and 1" deep.
Eagles are the messengers to the Creator, and they symbolize power, balance, dignity, grace, they are hunters and protectors from the sky.
