Warrior Maiden fetish by Zuni artist Claudia Peina, made of shed antler with coral, turquoise and jet inlay. The shield and lance are made out of silver. This fetish is not signed on the bottom, but we buy directly from the artist so we know who made it. This fetish is beautifully carved, characteristic of Claudia Peina's style, and the Warrior maiden is something she makes and is rarely seen done.
The Corn Maiden helps to bring a healthy corn crop (abundance), which is an important source of food to the Zuni.
