Zuni fetish carving of a Kangaroo made of brown and tan Picasso marble, with turquoise and black marble eyes. The Kangaroo is holding a piece of turquoise in its hands to represent a piece of food. Native American Made. It is 3" tall, 3 1/2" long, and 1" deep. This fetish was handmade by Zuni artist Enrike Leekya, and is signed on the bottom. Very cute Kangaroo, made of a beautiful piece of stone, and the food in its hands is a sweet detail.
Kangaroos are not used in Zuni religious ceremonies, but they are one of the animals from around the world that Zuni fetish carvers make, to showcase their creativity, ingenuity, and skill.
