Corn maiden fetish by Zuni artist Claudia Peina, made of carved shed antler, with jet, turquoise, and coral inlay. It is signed on the bottom. This corn maiden is wearing a traditional hair style and a turquoise necklace with jet and coral inlay. The antler is lightly burned with fire to create the brown color.
The Corn Maiden helps to bring a healthy corn crop (abundance), which is an important source of food to the Zuni.
Measurements: It measures just over 3" tall, 1 1/8" wide, and 1 1/8" deep.
