Zuni Beaver fetish by Zuni artist Corwin Yamutewa made of white marble, with inlay coral eyes. Signed on the bottom.
We have not seen new work by the Zuni artist Corwin Yamutewa for a while. He is a firefighter and usually only carves in the off season, so he doesn't produce as many fetishes which makes his carvings more valuable. This is an older piece by Corwin.
Beavers represent a strong sense of family and home, they are builders and the keepers of the waterways.
Measurements: 3 1/2" long, 1 1/4" tall, and 1 1/2" deep.
