Santo Domingo Depression necklace, ca. 1930s
Santo Domingo Depression necklace with a mosaic Thunderbird pendant and five mosaic squashes on each side. Necklace was made around 1935 from turquoise, found materials (radio or batteries), and gypsum beads. The necklace measures 27" long, has a hook clasp, and the thunderbird pendant is almost 1 1/2" long. This one is different from other Santo Domingo Depression necklaces because it has no red, and has a more elegant presence.
