Apache-made blackware pottery moccasin
Apache-made blackware pottery moccasin, antique collectible item from 1930s. Made with traditional Pueblo pottery methods, hand-made and fired. This is a black Apache-style moccasin with a turned-up toe, and it measures 2 1/8" tall, 2" wide, and 3 3/4" long. Has the original shop tag from the 1930s on the bottom that says "Apache Pottery Moccasin".
Pottery moccasins were made by the Pueblo Indians as a collectible item for tourists at the trading posts and railroad stations. This moccasin has very fine workmanship. Pottery moccasins are a unique Native American find.
