Horace Iule Zuni knifewing concho belt, ca. 1940
Zuni knifewing concho belt, made by artist Horace Iule around the 1940s. The belt is 41" long, adjustable, and about 1 1/2" wide. There are 9 conchos and a buckle, all with a Zuni knifewing design, hand-stamped and hand-filed, with a scalloped leather medallion on the back of each concho. The conchos and buckle are each 2 1/4" in diameter, made of heavy gauge sterling silver. On the back of each concho and the buckle, there is an old owner's identification mark with license plate number and initials.
